It’s been an interesting six months; we are a Skills for Care Endorsed Provider and in April we were selected to deliver their FULLY FUNDED essential COVID-19 interactive training webinars and inclusive eLearning modules.
The webinars are to provide support to Care organisations that are taking on new staff or who have been redeploying existing staff in new areas and need Care Certificate training (such as local council staff). We’ve also been able to help other care providers whose mandatory training is becoming out of date by providing modules that cover the knowledge and understanding required to safely carry out their work.
It was a challenge to quickly respond to this including initially designing the courses, sorting out the systems and having the mechanisms in place to deliver this great support – when everyone is busy just trying to deliver good care during this pandemic. However, we got the courses up and running and made them as flexible as possible to encourage participation, and since the start of these we have delivered approaching 250 webinars with around 5,000 attendee’s. It’s something we’re really proud of!
I think a lot of people have surprised themselves with how easy accessing and participating in these sessions is using mobile devices as many may not have had much experience of webinar /conference systems and Social Media, and have been a bit concerned about using it, but the webinars have been really simple to join and the feedback has been phenomenal:
‘It’s been great to be able to interact with others experiencing the same sort of problems’.
‘Very well presented, easy to understand and very helpful, I am enjoying my Webinar experience’.
‘Excellent teaching, I retained the information, I would recommend these Webinars, I am very impressed, thank you for an enjoyable learning experience’.
Knowing that we’ve been able to help individuals start in and remain working in the care sector, and support the most vulnerable in our society in these difficult times, has been heartening. This project has meant a lot to us.
We are still delivering these free induction Care Certificate training programmes. If you are interested in finding out more details and taking advantage of this funded opportunity, do please get in touch. Email info@accessskills.co.uk
