- Safeguarding
- Promoting health and wellbeing
- Professional development
End point Assessment
Once all learning components are achieved a gateway discussion takes place with the employer, tutor and Learner and if agreed, progression to the End Point Assessment takes place. This independent assessment includes a multi-choice test (based on knowledge learnt throughout the programme) and a Professional Discussion.
Why choose an Apprenticeship?
Apart from a recognised qualification respected by the care sector, Apprentices also gain confidence in their leadership skills and develop approaches to effectively support colleagues, take on additional responsibilities to support career advancement as a supervisor or manager, and achieve their own personal development goals.
Funding
This apprenticeship receives Government Funding up to £3,000 – with a 5% Employer contribution for non-levy employers. In addition, employers can redeem £1,300 towards training expenses through the employer Skills for Care Workforce Development Fund.
Choosing a training provider – things to consider:
Different providers have different skills and approaches, but they must all be registered as Apprenticeship providers and be inspected by OFSTED. Other quality marks are ESFA Approved Training Organisation, Matrix Accredit (high-quality information advice and Guidance (IAG), and endorsement by Skills for Care. Look for additional value, although free (apart from 5% employer contribution if non-levy) how is the course delivered? Is there opportunity for CPD or provision of additional resources?
Organisations that are experienced in the Care Sector and work closely with Stakeholders may provide more specialist training developed from an understanding of the issues faced by managers. Finally, look for a strong track record of successfully training managers with high achievement and satisfaction rates.
